Cleaning: wipe or brush off dirt with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth, then rinse and allow to dry.
Drainage: make sure there is suitable drainage, or use a liner or inner pot, to prevent waterlogging and staining.
Weather: for outdoor planters, raise slightly off the ground on pot feet and move to a sheltered spot or empty during hard frosts to help prevent cracking.
Placement: place on a stable, level surface. Take care when moving heavy planters once filled.
